Twice as nice!

Well, as of last night around 11:40 p.m., Kyle and I became an Uncle and Aunt again! Aubrey Mae Finn was born at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 20.5 inches long! My sister called me last night around 9:00 p.m. while I was out with a couple girlfriends to let me know that her contractions (which she had been having on and off throughout the day) were getting much stronger and this baby girl would be enter the world sooner rather than later :) My prediction ALL along has been that she would be born on the 27th, so I knew I was going to be right. Little did I know how FAST baby girl was going to come. She was only born 2 1/2 hours later after that phone call, and before midnight, which means my prediction was off by 20 minutes :( Oh well, happy that she gave my sister a fast labor! I'm praying mine is that quick!!

I am so excited to go up to MN and meet her and see the family. I am going to head up the third weekend in April so hopefully they will be adjusted to a new home life. I am anxious to see how little Aidan is going to be with a new little sister.

As far as my pregnancy going, I'm still trucking along. Nothing really new, I will be 22 weeks on Monday, and do not have another doctor's appointment until 24 weeks. My clothes are becoming MUCH more tight now, I seem to have blossomed over night. I had a shirt that fit on Monday, that I can longer where as of yesterday! She must be growing! :)

In other family news, I found out last week that my cousin Scott and his wife are going to have a baby come September. That gives my Grandma Mosher 4 new Great Grandchildren this year! My sister, my cousin Ted and his wife, me, and my cousin Scott and his wife. WOW!! Our family is sure growing fast...I think we are up close to 70 now!!

Kyle and I are off to do our baby registries today. Should be an exciting adventure, and a little overwhelming at the same time!!

PINK!

We are thinking pink now in the Montgomery household! :) Yesterday was our 20 week ultrasound and got the news that we will be having a little girl this summer. It was such an exciting day. I was very excited the whole day at work, and could not wait until 3:45 rolled around!

When we got to the ultrasound, we asked the tech if she could write the sex down on a piece of paper, so we could open it later on that night. When she double checked the sex, she shut off the monitor so we would not see. The ultrasound was much neater than my 9 week one. It was so neat to see our little girl moving around inside of me. At one point, I saw her punch her arm out, and I felt it at the same time...very cool! Kyle and I were both in awe at how you can truly see her body parts, and we even got a picture of her profile and her two little feet.

After we left the ultrasound, we headed downtown Madison to State Street to walk around and find the perfect spot to open up our paper. We enjoyed the BEAUTIFUL weather (60 degrees) and sunshine, even though there were a lot of college students thouroughly enjoying green beer on St. Patty's Day :) After walking for a while, we headed all the way up State Street to the Captiol building and saw all the people sitting on the hill of the Capitol in the sun...what a perfet spot! So, we walked up the hill, sat down, and I decided I wanted Kyle to open the piece of paper (while I video recorded it on my Flip). As he opened the paper, I was in SHOCK when I saw the word female, as was Kyle. We were both very happy and excited, but we both sat there in shock as we both thought it was a boy, for sure! After we opened the paper, we walked back down State St. and ate at the same restaurant (Tutto Pasta) we ate at when we found out I was pregnant. Such a wonderful day we will remember forever (and if not, I have it recorded) :)

Updates

I have written about quite a bit since starting this blog, so I figured I would update you on some older posts.

First off, we had our 20 week appointment yesterday, and all was fine. The baby's heartbeat was 140 (normal) and our test results all came back great. Less than 1 in 5000 chance our child have some birth defect/genetic disorder. I did, however, begin the process of gaining weight. Since my 16 week appointment, I have gained 9 lbs! Not used to stepping on the scale and seeing that number pop up! HA. I am right on target, most women gain 10lbs by 20 weeks. So, even though a little shocked, I'm right where I should be :) From now on, I should be gaining about 1 lb. a week.

As far as my sour addiction goes, it is gone! That little craving lasted about 2 weeks, thank goodness! My allergies, however, are something I am going to have to struggle with through the whole pregnancy. I have began taking allergy medicine, and I am feeling much better. The only other thing I have "complained" about is the constant need to pee! That, thankfully, has subsided a little. I know they say it gets worse the further along you go, but mine has actually gotten a little better. I am only waking up once, maybe twice, a night now to go...before it was 3-4 times. Such relief, I need all the sleep I can get!

We are very excited for tomorrow and can't wait to find out the sex of the baby! I think we are both just praying the baby doesn't have its legs crossed! HA!

Predictions?

Well, I am 20 weeks (halfway done!!). And the time has come to decide if we are going to find out the sex or not on Wednesday at our 20 week ultrasound. We have been discussing this option for the past 6 weeks, and our decision has been made. We are going to find out! When I first became pregnant, both of us said right away that we did not want to find out the sex. As the weeks went on, my mind started to change. The past 6 weeks have been me telling Kyle all the pros to finding out the sex, in hopes that he would change his mind. About 3 weeks ago, his position started to shift, and we decided now that we will find out. So, come Wednesday night, we will know if we are having a little girl or a little boy. Feel free to post your predictions, I would be interested to hear what you all think! So far, everyone has said a boy (I mean EVERYONE, besides my Dad). He, of course, I think is just voting against the majority :) So, stay tuned!

Our weeks have been flying by here at the Montgomery household. With the nice weather we have been having, we are trying to get outside as much as possible after we get off of work. I get off around 3:30, and have a neighbor who I take daily walks with. Such a nice feeling! The snow in Madison is completely gone, and we are thinking Spring!

Well, tomorrow we have our 20 week doctor appointment (along with the ultrasound on Wednesday) to hear the heartbeat and get the results of our blood work we had done at 16 weeks. They will give us the probabilities of our child having Down's Syndrome, Trisomy 21, and a couple other genetic diseases. Please pray for us that our tests come back ok!

We have a mover!

Yes, I have finally felt the baby move! My mom has been asking me for a couple of weeks now if I have felt it, and I always responded with a "No". I wasn't sure if I really was not feeling it, or if I just did not recognize the feeling. Sure enough, as I was lounging on the couch last night watching American Idol, I kept feeling what I thought was gas bubbles in my stomach. As they continued on, I thought "Wait a minute, I think that is the baby!". Sure enough, I am positive it was. I put my hand on my tummy and could feel the little "bubbles". I am not sure exactly how to describe it better than bubbles.
It was such a neat feeling. I called Kyle in San Diego and let him know that we officially have a mover. So exciting :)
Now that I recognize the feeling, the baby was very active today. I felt constant bubbles throughout much of the day. Such a cool feeling!

Much too fast

Time seems to be flying by lately. I cannot believe I am already in my 18th week. Where has the time gone? In a way, it is such a good thing. I am so ready for winter to be over, and the sun and warm weather to return. But, it is also a little scary. If time is going by this fast now, what will happen after the baby is born?

This past weekend went exceptionally fast. Friday after work, Kyle and I took a "date night" for ourselves and headed to one of my favorite Mexican places, Qdoba. We then came home to watch the movie Star Trek. I think I was asleep in the first 30 minutes. Not a very exciting movie choice for me.

Saturday morning, after a visit to the gym, we headed back to IL to spend some time with our families. I always love going back home for some good home cookin'. I just never seem to be able to cook the way our moms do! We enjoyed some time with our friends on Saturday night, and then had plenty of action on Sunday with Kyle's two nieces. We watched the USA Hockey game on Sunday and we on the edge of our seats at the end of regulation as I'm sure everyone else was. What an exciting goal! If only they could have won :(

We came home last night and did a couple of loads of laundry so Kyle would have clean clothes to head to San Diego today. He has a trade show out there until Friday for work. Poor him, must be rough going to upper 60 degree weather for the week, right ;)
