Red Berry

OUR NEW HOUSE!

Ahh, that feels good to say! Our offer (well out 3rd offer as we countered many times with them) was accepted last night, and we will be closing on our new home May 31 (pending all inspections pass) on Red Berry Lane in Fishers, IN. Fishers is a great suburb of Indy just north of downtown about 20 minutes. We are very excited to move on out of the townhome and into a place we can settle into can call it "our house". Its been a long 2 months of house hunting- but it was worth it.
Another big plus--

It has a pool! A pool was never on our "must have" list, this one just happened to have an in ground pool. After months of searching, and looking at 30+ houses, we hope it passes al inspections so we can move into it at the end of May. Perfect time for summer to being so we can get the max use out of the pool!
Everyone is feeling much better as well. Preston has his re-check on Thursday to make sure his ears are clear, and my sinus infection is totally gone. Thank goodness. Everyone enjoy the summer like temps while they stick around for the next couple of days!

2nd go around

Man, what a weekend. I just said in my last post I wasn't feeling much better on my antibiotics for a sinus infection, and boy did it get worse. I started to feel really ill on Friday night- fever, chills, sore throat, the whole gamete. I have not felt that sick in years. Well before I ever had kids, because being that sick and trying to help take care of two kids was torture. Luckily, Kyle did a great job and just needed some help with Preston's schedule of what he needed and when. By Saturday morning, back to urgent care for me to get new meds to tackle the infection. I am feeling SO much better now- and thankfully so since Kyle is in Chicago all week for work. There would have been NO way I could have taken care of the kids by myself if I was feeling like I was on Friday night.
Preston also has been still fussy, tugging at his ear, and not sleeping well- so I called the doctor this morning and they switched his meds as well. Hopefully these 2nd round of meds for both of us do the trick. Thanks to the ear infection- Preston's sleeping through the night has gone down the toilet- that didn't last long. I think I had 5-6 nights of him sleeping from 8p-6a...back to sleep training again when he is feeling a bit better.
House update: The offer we have in on the short sale is in the process of being assessed by the bank. The mediator on the case is trying to stop the bank from having the house go into foreclosure (this Wednesday) but it's not looking so good. After Wednesday, the house is turned over to the county sheriff's for auction. So, come Wednesday, we will be back hunting again if nothing happens in these next two days. What a process!!

Hanging on....

Man, what a week in world news, right? One crazy event after another has really made for an awful week in the U.S. To add to the horrible events, Kyle's work had a bomb scare today- luckily, he was traveling for work, and was not there- even though it amounted to nothing in the end. They did evacuate his entire office- but it appears as of now it seems to be nothing.
Our week of sickness is still hanging on. I am still on my antibiotics for my sinus infection, but it is still hanging around, leading me to also think I have allergies on the side. With our 70-80 degree temps and Spring in full swing here, I am thinking my allergies are also attributing to this sinus headache. Also this week, Preston started to feel yucky. It began on Tuesday morning when he developed a low fever, and by Tuesday night, he was not himself at all. He fussed when drinking a bottle, cried on and off all day, and slept awful at night. By Wednesday morning, he refused to eat and couldn't shake his fever with the help of tylenol. After another horrible nights sleep and him refusing all liquids and foods for over 8 hours,  I took him to immediate care on Wednesday afternoon and sure enough, he has an ear infection. I have to be quite grateful that he is 8 months old (today!) and this is his first time ever being sick. He was in pretty bad shape, crying pretty much all Wednesday and Wednesday evening, but started to turn a corner yesterday afternoon. He was back to his smiling/giggling self today, so it appears he is on the mend.
Not too much on tap for the weekend, lots of family time as Kyle heads to Chicago next Mon-Thur for a work conference (first time since Preston was born that I am alone for that long with both kids!)
Hoping everyone back in the midwest is safe with all the rain- and my sister isn't too depressed with all the snow in Minnesota! I keep telling everyone to join us in Indy! :)

P's big week

Preston has had quite the big week this week in terms on milestones. 7 1/2 months (well almost 8) in the making and he FINALLY slept through the entire night last night! He did wake up twice and I patted him back to sleep, but no bottle from 8:15 p.m. to 6:15 am- talk about amazing. I have been waiting for a night like this since he was about 3 months old (about the time when it is no longer "fun" to wake up in the middle of the night with your new little baby!) After 3 months, the process becomes more of an annoyance and you would much rather get sleep than cuddle/feed your baby :) For the past 4 nights, he has been waking up at 4:00 for a bottle, and I decreased the amount from 5 oz to 3 oz per "night weaning" guidelines, and apparently, it worked. I just hope this streak continues as we head back to Illinois today for a wedding that Kyle is in this Saturday. His thrown off schedule and change of routine might toss him off, but I am hoping the night sleeping his here to stay.
He also began sitting up entirely on his own. No more wobble baby- he rarely falls over, usually just when reaching for a toy that he can't quite grasp. He is much happier being upright (not that he was crabby before) but now that he can sit up and entertain himself with toys, he plays much longer on his own. Even though it is fun to see him "hit" these milestones, Kyle and I agreed it is both fun but depressing. It so hard watching him get so big so fast. Next comes crawling, then walking, and we all know once the movement starts, it NEVER stops...I wish the baby stage lasted much longer than "one year"!
Along with Easter presents/candy, the Easter bunny also brought us a house full of colds. We are still fighting off these germs and finally Kyle broke down and went to the doctor on Tuesday, and I am headed to the fast care today. My sinuses have been killing me and I don't think this cold is just a cold anymore- time to fight off this sinus infection. Reese still has a running nose but hers seems to be clearing up on its own.
With these 80 degree temps we have had this week, its going to be hard to go back to the 30 degree temps back home! I must say I do love the weather here in Indy- even though its only 5 hours away from home, the weather is SO much better!

*Apprently none of my pictures are showing up- which I am attribting to using the Ipad since my computer is broken, going to look into how to fix this!*

74?

You go that right, the high today is 74 degrees and I couldn't be ANY happier about it! We took FULL advantage of this beautiful weather and headed to the zoo this morning. Kyle is flying out this afternoon for a day trip to Kansas City for work, so with the zoo on the way to the airport, we drove seperate vehicles so he headed to fly out and we headed home when we were done. What a perfect day. The sun was shining- I even got a little color! All of the animals were out, and we even got to see the elephants today (they were my favorite.)
Yesterday we kept busy too, taking Reese to the Home Depot kids workshop in the morning before we met some friends for lunch. The first Saturday of every month they host a free kids workshop where kids can come and build the planned activity. This month, it was building a birdfeeder. Reese jumped right in and helped Kyle, and then painted it once it was put together. Afterwards, we went to Lincoln Square Pancake House in dt Greenfield for some yummy lunch- Reese even got a Mickey Mouse pancake! We met the other couple through Reese's tumbling class, they have two girls- both Reese and Preston's ages. We had fun socializing with other adults- and the kids had a good time goofing around.
We then went out house hunting a bit more yesterday afternoon. With our realtor on vacation until Tuesday, and us being back home next weekend for a wedding that Kyle is in, we figured we needed to get out on our own. We looked up 6 houses to drive by, and were not really impressed with any. The lots always look SO much nicer on the computer, and then you drive by and it is either houses stacked on each other, or a lot that has a steep hill as a backyard- neither functional for our family. So, with the short sale we have an offer in on- the house is looming foreclosure (Apr 24 to be exact.) The mediator on the case esaid either raise your offer in hopes of potential accpetance, or move along as it will for sure be going into foreclosure on the 24th- and no one can touch that house for atleast a year then. So, we have to decide what we want to do- we will be going to look at it again on Tuesday evening to make our final decision. There is one other offer in on the property, but we know our offer is higher- as they mediator has told us. We know the exact number they are looking for, we just arent sure we want to pay that for it. And, even if we do offer that number, there is still a chance the bank rejects it and it goes into foreclosure anyways....I'll keep you posted!

Easter

We had a great 3 day weekend back in Illinois for Easter. Friday we celebrated Aidan (5) and Aubrey's  (3) birthdays and Saturday did Easter with my family. Sunday we headed to Kyle's parents and did Easter with them. Unfortunately, my computer took a crap and my screen is black- thus not letting me upload any photos- so they only pics I can share from the weekend are from the ones my Mom sent- as I cannot upload pictures from my camera to the Ipad. So, here are a few from the fun days we had...

Reese and Aubrey on the 4 wheeler- watch out for these two

A new form of hopscotch "princess hopscotch"- I promise- she is more athletic than she looks :)
Easter morning- I am pretty sure Reese already had some candy in her mouth
