Christmas 2014

Back to reality. Christmas came as went as fast as it possibly could. We went back to IL for an entire week, and packed 5 Christmas' into those days! We spent 1/2 with my family, and 1/2 with Kyle's family. We also did my Mom's side for Christmas, my Dad's side, and Kyle's Dad side- to bring the total to 5. Lots of food and lots of drinks :)
We got to see everyone in our families and it was a great time. We even got to see my aunt and uncle from CT and my cousin and her kids from Hawaii (whom I haven't seen in over 4 years!) I also got to see my cousin from Portland, OR and many other family we don't get to see that often. We truly were blessed this Christmas. Santa was WAY to good to the kids, but we packed in all in the truck and I am trying to find spots for it all today. I'll recap with pics at the end to highlight some of our trip.
Unfortunatley, Izzy (our 17 lb mini goldendoodle) did not have a good trip. On Friday eve/night, she started throwing up and having a lot of diarrhea. We took her to the vet in Orangeville, where she got an IV for dehydration and some meds to help settle her stomach. She seemed better Saturday afternoon, but Kyle had to take her back in Saturday during the middle of the night. She spent Sat night, all day Sunday, and Sunday night there- on an IV and then they started her on antibiotics. Poor little girl. We picked her up on Monday morning, and they gave her a sedative for the ride home yesterday. She is on a 10 day antibiotic and seems to be doing better today. She is eating a small bit of chicken and rice, and is not having diarrhea anymore. SHe is still very tired and weak. We are not sure what caused it- may be a virus or something she ate. All I know is I am glad she is finally on the mend- as it was a long weekend worrying about her.
Here are some pics from our trip:

Mexico and more

First off, Happy Holidays! I haven't done much checking in during December because of our week vacation in Mexico! Where to begin...ahhh. It was a much needed vacation for Kyle and I. Sun, sand, cocktails, all while surrounded by some of our favorite people. The main reason for the trip was my best friends wedding (which happened on Friday the 12th). We went down on Wednesday and came back Monday. The wedding has 90 guests (!) and we all had a blast. Pool parties, beach walks, yummy drinks, lots of sun, relaxation, family time, and of course, a beautiful wedding on the beach. How much better can it get?! My parents and sister and brother in law went as well, so it was a mini family vacation too. We had so much fun, and the weather was perfect. I'll re cap with some pictures at the end. A HUGE thanks to Kyle's parents for coming out to our house for the week to watch the kids. We couldn't have a better family to help out with the kids so that we can take these kinds of trips- so thank YOU!
This week was busy prepping for Christmas, getting the last of the presents wrapped, finishing up making cookies, and the kids enjoyed their last week of school until January. Preston had his Christmas concert on Thursday, and it was hilarious. He wanted nothing to do with it. He stood like a statue and had a quivering lip the entire time. All 6 other kids danced, sang, and clapped while Preston stood there wanting to cry the entire time (which he did at the end and I had to get him.) Him and Reese are SO opposite. She had a solo at her program, and rocked it!
We went to the Indy Zoo last night for their Zoo Lights. It was AWESOME. The animals were all out roaming around, the dolphin show featured Christmas music, and the kids had a blast. I'm so glad we went.
Here are some pics of our last few weeks. We head home on Monday for a week - so I'll check back in after Christmas. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!!

Oh, before I sign off- HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! See you in a few days :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS- from our family, to yours!!

Friendsgivingmas

This past weekend I had our 3rd annual Friendsgivingmas at my friend Darcy's house. Our annual tradition has become a highly anticipated event for all of us, and we dont leave out any details. From goody bags, games, lots of cooking, and our course, lots of cocktails. This years drink of choice was a moscow mule in copper cups. Vodka with ginger beer and a slice of lime. Delish. The time always goes by too fast, but here's a few pics.

Cassie preparing goat cheese bites- they were so yummy!

Cooking and drinking, all while wearing out ugly sweater :)

You wont hear from me for a while, as I am headed to sunny Mexico on Wednesday for my best friends wedding. Enjoy your week!
