3 months?? How in the world has three months past with no blog update? I'll tell you how. Thanksgiving, Christmas, gymnastics, busy weekends, and three kids. Yep, three kids. That's how. Life has taken over and this poor blog has taken a backseat to our daily lives. I have WAY to many pictures from the last few months to update, so I'm just going to give a general overview.
We celebrated Thanksgiving this year up at my sister's place in Minnesota. It was so nice to be able to be together and let the kids play. We are very thankful for being back and closer to family which allows us to do things like this over the holidays.
December flew by with Christmas activities for the kids school and Christmas prep. This year, we did X-mas eve at my parents with my sister and her kids, X-mas morning at our place, and X-mas afternoon at Kyle's parents. The kids were so fun to watch this year. Their excitement over Christmas makes you see the spirit of the season through the eyes of a kid again. They were so thrilled over each present, and Tate had a blast chewing on wrapping paper :)
Update on the kids:
Reese is back in the swing of school after break and is still loving it. She is a rule follower, routine kinda gal so she looks forward to the structure of school in her life. She is still doing gymnastics twice a week and loves that as well. In November, she also did a 6 week basketball clinic at the school with kids her age. I think she liked that as well. She is reading up a storm and loves anything creative. Writing stories and drawing pictures is how she spends her time when we are at home.
Preston is also back in school four days a week during the afternoons at the 4K at the school. He is also doing very well. We have not had any "teacher talks" lately and he is being a much better listener at school. He is also now able to spell and write his whole name! This was a process for us and we are so proud of him for finally nailing it!
We have also been struggling for a few weeks with hives with Preston. We are in the process of elimination with him. We have been to the doctor twice, and he has been on benadryl everyday, and now we are trying Claritin to see if it helps. If it doesn't, we will be referred to an allergist to do some testing to see what is causing the reaction. They appear all over his hands, feet, and cheeks when he has an out break. Luckily, none this far on his lips or mouth- if that happens, we will be heading to the ER. Keep him in your thoughts that we can come to the bottom of this!
Tate is a moving machine now. At 9 months old, he weighs 21 lbs (76%) and is 30.5' long (99%). He was army crawling at Christmas, but now he is on all fours and cruises around like crazy. He is weaning off baby food and eats lot of table food now. He is such a happy boy and is a momma's guy :) if I'm in sight, he is on my lap or coming for me. He is also sleep training well. Up until about a few weeks ago, he was waking 1-2 times a night. We have been sleep training (again) since last Sunday, and these past three nights I haven't heard him until 5:00 am- i give him a bottle, and he goes back to sleep until 6-6:30. He is doing much better and I am feeling human again with the extra hours of sleep.
Kyle and I head to Jamaica in a week and a half for a vacation with another couple. We are SO excited to get away and head somewhere warm. In February we head to Florida for a wedding, and then in March we head back to Florida for Spring Break with the kids. A couple busy months but lots of fun things to look forward to.
I'm going to try my best to get back here before the 3 month mark again! :)
