We got to see everyone in our families and it was a great time. We even got to see my aunt and uncle from CT and my cousin and her kids from Hawaii (whom I haven't seen in over 4 years!) I also got to see my cousin from Portland, OR and many other family we don't get to see that often. We truly were blessed this Christmas. Santa was WAY to good to the kids, but we packed in all in the truck and I am trying to find spots for it all today. I'll recap with pics at the end to highlight some of our trip.
Unfortunatley, Izzy (our 17 lb mini goldendoodle) did not have a good trip. On Friday eve/night, she started throwing up and having a lot of diarrhea. We took her to the vet in Orangeville, where she got an IV for dehydration and some meds to help settle her stomach. She seemed better Saturday afternoon, but Kyle had to take her back in Saturday during the middle of the night. She spent Sat night, all day Sunday, and Sunday night there- on an IV and then they started her on antibiotics. Poor little girl. We picked her up on Monday morning, and they gave her a sedative for the ride home yesterday. She is on a 10 day antibiotic and seems to be doing better today. She is eating a small bit of chicken and rice, and is not having diarrhea anymore. SHe is still very tired and weak. We are not sure what caused it- may be a virus or something she ate. All I know is I am glad she is finally on the mend- as it was a long weekend worrying about her.
